These videos give an insider’s look at the Adidas Innovation Team and their thorough research and development process. The team tries to plan 3 to 5 years ahead of time in order to stay at the forefront of the industry and get their athletes in the newest materials and technology. A variety of testing mechanisms, including motion sensors and the “Clima Chamber,” are used to study the joint movements and angles of athletes, as well as test the performance of their materials in various conditions. Feedback from athletes is paramount to the Adidas design team. They test their products on local athletes near the Germany headquarters, as well as the world’s top athletes like Zinedine Zidane, who was one of the first to test out the Brazuca prototype.
